Sequoia National Park and Kings Canyon National Park

Sequoia National Park is America's second oldest national park. It is the home of the largest living thing, the biggest trees in the world, and some of the oldest trees on our planet. There is so much forest to explore along with caves, waterfalls, and rivers that it would take a lifetime of visiting to see it all. There are miles and miles of hiking trails from the foothills all the way into the forest. There are high country trails as well as easy to moderate trails. Crystal Cave offers tours of it spectacular caverns. Giant Forest museum peeks into the forest's past, present, and future as well as educates the visitor on the wildlife and botany of the area.

Kings Canyon National Park meets Sequoia on the General's Highway, the road joining the two parks. Kings Canyon hosts giant sequoia trees and panoramic trails with views of the great Sierra Nevada Divide. The General's Highway drops down into the deep canyon offering breathtaking vistas of steep mountain peaks with the Kings Rivers falling sharply down the canyon walls to snake its way around to the floor below. The road passes Boyden Cavern, another cave exploring experience before it ends at Cedar Grove village. Several spectacular waterfalls can easily be reached from this vantage.
